Any Guesses???
I'm hoping it was just mud.

The Many Faces of Ryan..

Cheesy...
Just plain cute...
Goofy...
Giggly..
Displeased that big brother is trying to hog the chair, the grapes and dictate the t.v lineup.

Finally an Update

Sorry for the lack of updates and photos, but with 3 (that's right 3) sick boys in the house, who has time!   Sean and Ryan are finally over Influenza A.  Ryan is also recovering from yet another sinus infection and Tony spent last weekend with the stomach flu.  How I am still standing is beyond me, but I am thankful.

Ryan's birthday party has been postponed again due to illness.  This time it is Sean and Ryan's cousins who are sick.  Hopefully we will be ready to go next weekend.   According to Sean Ryan is "just a little bit of pretend 2, because he hasn't had cake yet".  This situation must be rectified so he can be real 2!  If you ask Ryan if he is 2 he seems to be confused too.  Cards... yes... presents... no... cake... no... so his answer goes back and forth between holding up  fingers and a definite NO.

Another big one for him now is Why?  I too would like to know why he is 2... why must he grow up so fast?  But enough with the why aren't we supposed to just be getting into no and have another 6 mos to year before why?  He is also showing a great sense of direction.  Much like Sean did at this age.   On the way to pick Sean and Sidney up at preschool, he points out the street Sidney's babysitter is on.  He points in the correct direction and at the correct corner and says "Boon" . This is the way to Dr. Boon's office.  We have never gone that way, but he seems to know.  As we approach preschool he points to the Scrapbook store I go to and lets me know that is where the puppy and kitty are and then shows me preschool.  To much!!  He can also direct me to Kiki's (Karen, their daycare) and Daddy's work.

Ryan is showing great promise in the potty training department.  What I originally thought would be something to play with during the long time at home, has been semi successful.  He seems to see the potty chair as a toy to be dragged from room to room.  Not to mention a ploy to have Mommy let him run around naked.  However, he is happy to go on the big potty with his mighty machine or Bob the Builder seat.   Last week at his 2 year check Dr. Boon and I talked about introducing potty training.  Seems our little big man was listening.  As soon as we got home, he asked to get on the big pot and peed!!  He repeated this a few minutes later.  There is no question he knows what he is doing and when he needs to do it.  We're a long way from done, but off to a great start!!

Keep checking for updated pics.  I'm working on it.  Definitely, next week for birthday party updates.

Taking Care of Business
On the eve of his second birthday, I decided to pull out the potty chair.  No pressure, just to play around with.  Ryan LOVED it.  He made sure that Sean knew that it was his and to leave it alone!  He might even have peed in  it if he hadn't already gone on the floor... after bath ritual!

Unfortunately, birthday number 2 is not off to a flying start.   Ryan hasn't been feeling the greatest... I figured we were in for another sinus infection.  This morning, Sean came in saying his throat was sore.  I went ahead and booked a doctor's appointment just in case.  Sean was sent home from preschool before the valentine's day party, due to a fever, so I guess I made a good decision.   After a quick nap at my school while I attended a meeting, we picked up Ryan and headed to the doc.   Surprise, surprise, Influenza A.   So, the birthday party has been postponed and the boys and I are home until at least Sunday.  Fortunately, I have Friday off anyway.   The whole family is on Tamaflu.   While it doesn't ease the symptoms, it does help shorten the illness and will HOPEFULLY keep Tony and I healthy.  Fingers crossed.   As a write, Sean is sleeping soundly  and Ryan has just returned to his bed.   Sadly, he is looking and sounding worse than when he first went at 6:45.   We'll keep you posted.

Happy 3rd Birthday Lord Stanley!!!
Stanley celebrated his 3rd birthday today by enjoying a hog bone and lazing around.  I'm not sure he was too thrilled when the festivities included a birthday hat thought.   Happy birthday Stan my man!
