Finally an Update
Sorry for the lack of updates and photos, but with 3 (that's right 3) sick boys in the house, who has time! Sean and Ryan are finally over Influenza A. Ryan is also recovering from yet another sinus infection and Tony spent last weekend with the stomach flu. How I am still standing is beyond me, but I am thankful.
Ryan's birthday party has been postponed again due to illness. This time it is Sean and Ryan's cousins who are sick. Hopefully we will be ready to go next weekend. According to Sean Ryan is "just a little bit of pretend 2, because he hasn't had cake yet". This situation must be rectified so he can be real 2! If you ask Ryan if he is 2 he seems to be confused too. Cards... yes... presents... no... cake... no... so his answer goes back and forth between holding up fingers and a definite NO.
Another big one for him now is Why? I too would like to know why he is 2... why must he grow up so fast? But enough with the why aren't we supposed to just be getting into no and have another 6 mos to year before why? He is also showing a great sense of direction. Much like Sean did at this age. On the way to pick Sean and Sidney up at preschool, he points out the street Sidney's babysitter is on. He points in the correct direction and at the correct corner and says "Boon" . This is the way to Dr. Boon's office. We have never gone that way, but he seems to know. As we approach preschool he points to the Scrapbook store I go to and lets me know that is where the puppy and kitty are and then shows me preschool. To much!! He can also direct me to Kiki's (Karen, their daycare) and Daddy's work.
Ryan is showing great promise in the potty training department. What I originally thought would be something to play with during the long time at home, has been semi successful. He seems to see the potty chair as a toy to be dragged from room to room. Not to mention a ploy to have Mommy let him run around naked. However, he is happy to go on the big potty with his mighty machine or Bob the Builder seat. Last week at his 2 year check Dr. Boon and I talked about introducing potty training. Seems our little big man was listening. As soon as we got home, he asked to get on the big pot and peed!! He repeated this a few minutes later. There is no question he knows what he is doing and when he needs to do it. We're a long way from done, but off to a great start!!
Keep checking for updated pics. I'm working on it. Definitely, next week for birthday party updates.
