Sean's First Day of Kindergarten

...  and mommy only cried a little!   Sean was so excited to go to school on Tuesday, and so proud to carry his new lunchbox!  He was so excited he wouldn't let us put it in his (empty) backpack!  Once we got to school, we took him to the gym, where the whole school meets every morning.  Holy overwhelming for a 5 year old.    He was more than a little anxious before we left.   I emailed his teacher at lunch and she assured me he was fine.   Although he did shed some tears at lunch.  He "lost" Mrs. W.   It wasn't until the next morning that he put the pieces together and realized "Mommy, I don't think Mrs. W. was lost at all, I don't think she was supposed to have lunch with us!"    I've tried backing up the time I drop him off until the very last minute (meaning we take Ryan to daycare first... near my work) but he still clings to my leg and whines.   After many conversations with Mrs. W I have come to the conclusion that I am being played.  This has got to stop!!!  Hopefully next week will be easier... on all of us

Kindergarten Open House

The night before school started, we had a chance to visit Sean's classroom.   He was very excited to find that Grace was going to sit across from him.  They were in the same 3 year old preschool class and she lives behind us.   I hope she is as happy about it as he is!!   His teacher Mrs.  W   (I can't begin to spell it!)  had some jobs for the kids to do to help them find they're way around the room.
Ryan was less than thrilled about being there.   He kept saying "No Sean school, no!"  We are still working on the adjustment for him going to daycare alone.

Happy 5th Birthday Sean!!
For Sean's 5th birthday, we had his first "friend" party.  He invited 8 friends to go bowling.  The kids had a great time bowling, eating hot dogs and cake and playing games.  We even had a lane for Ryan and the other little ones to play on.  A good time was had by all.
I made a football cake (which wouldn't cooperate and upload) which was devoured by the kids at the bowling alley and we had a DQ ice cream cake for the grown ups at the house after.

New Posts Are Coming

Things have been crazy since we got back, getting back to school, not to mention napping.  I forgot how tiring the first 3 months of pregnancy can be.  I have lots of pictures, just need the time to get them on here.  Keep checking, they're coming.

This afternoon we are heading to the bowling alley for Sean's first big "friend" birthday party.  He has about 8 friends coming and is very excited.  Watch for that post soon.

Tuesday will mark Sean's first day of Kindergarten.  I can hardly believe it.  My emotions go back and forth between teary (my little boy is growing up so fast) to excited for him, he is so ready!

Ryan is in for a big change this week too.  Tuesday, he will go to daycare by himself for the first time.  He's one of the big boys there now.   I know he will do great.  It will be nice having afternoon's with him alone... wait no... we both nap!!  Maybe in a few months!!
