Back to the Doctor

Poor little Brandon has been suffering for the last few day. You wouldn't really know it by the way he eats and sleeps, but check his diaper and you'd know. His tiny little butt is flaming red as a result of all the pooping he's been doing. I didn't think much of it at first. Although babies pooping more than once a week is new in our house, I figured the amount he was going was normal. As time went on the number of poops and how they looked changed. His butt became raw too. Today I decided to take him to the doctor to get a prescription for cream if nothing else. Brandon was kind enough to provide a sample, without even being asked, while we were in the waiting room. This would be his 6th poop since about 6am... it was 2 pm. According to his doctor he has a stomach bug, probably something the rest of us had, but were able to fight off. I was told to take him off formula for 24 hours and replace it with pedialite, then give him 50% formula and 50% pedialite for the next 24 hours. Hopefully he'll be good as new soon. Fortunately, he is so good natured that you wouldn't know he is sick. He eats and sleeps well and only cries when he poops or has his butt wiped. Poor little guy.
