Look Who's Smiling Now!

It's a beautiful thing. My heart melts whenever he responds with a smile. This smile, one of his first, was at 7 weeks.

Shoemaker Field Day - May 2009

At the end of every school year Shoemaker School has field day.  Parents take time off work and bring their lawn chairs and watch as the kids run races.  It was so much fun watching Sean experience this for the first time.   First graders always run first as the kindergarten kids don't know what to do yet.  They ran a sprint followed by a partner race (holding hands).  Things are made more difficult for the older kids as the 2nd and 3rd graders run backwards for the second race and the 4th and 5th graders have a tug-of-war.  Good time was had by all.

Wow, 6 weeks Already!

I love this pose.  As a matter of fact, he is in this same pose as I write.  He is so peaceful looking when he sleeps.  Such an angel.

Playing at the Carnival

At the end of April, every year, the carnival comes to town.  On a Wednesday afternoon, we took the boys to celebrate good behaviour and work at school and Karen's.  The weather cooperated (it usually rains) and the boys had a blast.

Sean looked like such a big boy as he climbed to the top and slid down all by himself.

I have this same picture of him, taken when he was 2 1/2.  Just after Ryan was born, Mom and I took him to the carnival.

Sean's Reader's Theatre

Who knew that kindergarten students could do readers theatre... and well.  Wow.  At the end of April, invitations were sent home for parents and grandparents to visit the classroom while some of the guided reading groups presented the reader's theatre they had been practicing.  Sean was the third little pig in "The Three Little Pigs".   Great reading and expression Sean!

One Month Already!!

It's hard to believe but our little Brandon turned one month on the 20th of April.  My how time flies!   He continues to eat and sleep well.  The change to soy formula seems to have done the trick.   Sean and Ryan are happy to see that Brandon is awake more often.  They love to hug, kiss and talk to him.

The Easter Bunny Came to Our House

On Easter morning, the boys were thrilled to find that the Easter Bunny had come and filled their baskets with goodies.  Mommy and Daddy were happy that the goodies were not all of the chocolate and sugar variety!   As usual, he did leave a chocolate bunny so we knew it was he who had been here.   Sean noticed that the Easter bunny had left stickers with numbers on some of the goodies.  I told him that they were probably part of some sort of code that he uses so he knows what to leave at each house!   In addition to what you see here, they received a baseball/t-ball thingy... yes that is the technical term for it!  Sean is excited to practice for the upcoming (and his first) season of t-ball!

We spent Easter Sunday at Tony's parents house with his family and extended family.  We were also glad to have Mom and Dad join us this year.  This was our first Easter together since 2000!  

Yes that is formula... what else does the bunny get a 3 week old?

Hoppy Easter

On Saturday we took the boys to an Easter Egg Hunt at Sean's friends house.  What a great time!  They had horse rides, jumping castles and bouncers, baby chicks and goats to pet,  a playground  and face painting!!  Not to mention the Easter Bunny himself!!
