Barrie 2010 - Week 1
On July 14 we made our way to Omaha to spend the night at a hotel before flying to Toronto on Thursday morning. The boys were so excited to swim and hang out at a hotel. While Daddy took Sean and Ryan to the pool, Brandon and I stayed in the room and ordered some room service. He wandered around, stopping back at his tray for a bite from time to time. Later, he went to bed, with no problems while the rest of us ate dinner. A storm blew through with lightning and strong winds forcing the boys out of the pool.
Early Thursday morning we made our way to the airport and started our journey... my first alone with 3 boys. Sean and Ryan were more emotional when leaving Daddy than they had been in the past. I think it became real to Ryan that Daddy wasn't coming when we got in the security line. All in all, they were great travelers... thank goodness for Nintendo DS!
Here are a few pictures from our first week in Barrie, at Nana and Papa's. More will follow soon.

Brandon enjoying some chicken and fries in the hotel room.
Not sure where he found this!
The boys were so excited to go to Chris' cottage in Wasaga Beach.
They used nets Chris gave them to try and catch minnows.
Uncle Bud, Shirley, Nana, Megan and Brandon on the deck at the cottage.
Ryan, bucket in hand, heading to the beach!
Building sand castles.
Look at mine Mom!
Still working.
Feeding the ducks from the floating dock. Some ducks would feed from your hand, but the boys usually got nervous and threw the bread.
They even got in the river... not sure I would do this anymore!

On Tuesday, we rented a jumping castle so the kids could swim and play at Michelle's.
So much fun having all of our kids together (almost all Tracy wasn't there yet and Deb only brought 1)
L-R Ryan, Ben , Sarah, Jordana, Lucas, Annika, Sean and Brandon (front row)
Deb with L-R Annika, Maggie, Jordana, Thomas, Sean and Ryan in front.

The pictures are great and serve as wonderful reminders of your stay with us, Sean, Ryan and Brandon. When I was at the golf course the other day a couple of men asked me where you boys were as they enjoyed seeing you hit balls and putting.
Nana and I just got back from Chris' cottage.
I miss you very much. We must Skype soon.

Love,

Papa Joe
