Lisa and Chris Got Married!!

Yesterday, I got to attend my cousin Lisa's wedding.  It was so beautiful and I was so happy to be able to be a part of it.  So, I hope she doesn't mind, but I thought I would include a few pics from the day.   Lisa looked stunning in a pale pink gown, she glowed all day and into the night. 

Chris and Melissa, their baby is due on Sean's birthday.  She looked fabulous and was such a trooper throughout the day.

Now this I wish I had on video so it could be truly appreciated.  Pete was videotaping the dance floor when the Grease Medley came on.  Jeff sensing that there was a camera near by went straight into performance mode.  First for his own amusement, but before long he had the attention of the entire room.  Too much fun.

Swimming at Paul & Shirley's

Last Wednesday we made our way to Uncle Paul and Aunt Shirley's house for a swim.  We had a great time.  The boys thoroughly enjoyed swimming with Paul and Papa.  Stephen joined in too when he got home from work.   

Ryan is quite the daredevil and needs to be watched like a hawk.  Seems he decided that he could count 1,2, 3 jump all by himself... with no one prepared to catch him.  Fortunately, Papa was right there to come to the rescue.  We all cheered for him as we let out a huge sigh of relief. The cheer seemed to keep Ryan from panicking too much.  Many conversations about counting 1,2,3 and letting the catcher say jump.  Hopefully we are getting through.

Sean swam around the pool with the help of a floatie.   He also enjoyed the fact that he could touch the bottom in the shallow end.

We arrived at Nana and Papa's on the 10th, fortunately both boys traveled very well and our connections were perfect.  Now if only I could get Ryan to watch t.v...  He is more interested in turning lights on and off, raising and lowering the window shade and the tray.

As soon as we got to Nana and Papa's the boys settled in to play with their toys.  We tried to show Sean where a few things were, but he was quick to let us know that "I know all about this place."  

Our first few days were filled with playing around the house, driving the Jeep to David's and back (Mom and Dad's neighbour David is their new best friend... they love him!), trips to the park and a visit with Mommy's friend Kelly.

Sean and Finn hamming it up for the camera... Kelly must have taken this one while I wasn't looking.   The boys just met on this day, but became fast friends.  Ryan was in the thick of things too... he also seemed to think he needed to take his clothes off... not sure what that was about!

THE SPARE ROOM RENOVATION IS COMPLETE.... ALMOST!

During the  month of June I spent a LOT of time working on my office and the spare room.   I painted the old office, found a new comforter set, a few pictures and yesterday found a dresser, headboard and nightstands to complete the transformation.  Well... as with any project there are always a few things to finish... lamps and other decorations will come in due time!

COCO KEY WATER RESORT

Saturday morning we headed to Coco Key Indoor Water Resort for a mini getaway.   The boys had so much fun playing in the water and sliding on the slides.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I would have liked, but it is difficult when you are in it with them, having giant buckets of water dumped on me, sliding and floating down the lazy river.  My camera would have been ruined.   After a full day at the park, we headed to the Outback for dinner where Ryan learned that he LOVES the Blooomin Onion.   We returned to the hotel where the boys played some games in the arcade/play area and even pretended to rock out on guitar hero.  I only wish I had had the video camera with me!   Sunday morning we went for breakfast where the boys were a hit with the wait staff and then to Furniture Mart to pick up some things for the spare room.... I'll post pictures of the finished room soon.

Most of the pictures are of Ryan as he was easier to catch.  Sean was off in a  flash.  Ryan was a little more timid... to start with.

Towards the end of the day, this was Ryan's favourite activity... until he fell and bumped his head... wait no he still kept doing it.  When mommy finally put a stop to it... he hit his forehead on the edge of the pool... then it was time to go.  He is now sporting a goose egg and bruise on his forehead... what else is new???

4TH OF JULY FUN

On the evening of July 3rd we set off some more fire works.  This time in honor of the birthday of the USA.   This was the first year that Sean has ever seen fireworks... and not been terrified.  Ryan was a little nervous at first, but came around quickly.  We did it on Thursday night because we had plans for the weekend which meant we would have to leave early Saturday morning.   They boys were so tired  on Friday from Thursday night that they slept through all of the excitement... including many "questionable" extremely loud fireworks.

HAPPY CANADA DAY

On July 1, we got some fireworks and set them off in the front yard, in honour of Canada's birthday.  The boys were excited.  Here are a few pictures of the boys helping Daddy.

Last week, Sean decided to hook up the bike trailer to his gator.   He and Ryan played for hours that it was a 5th wheel trailer that they had sold.  They used Tony's garage as a service bay and "washed" and prepped their trailer for delivery!
