Mother's Day Camping

This weekend we made our first camping trip of the season.  The boys (Tony included) were very excited to get going.  Usually  by May we (or at least they) have had many trips.  The weather this year has been so crazy that we have had a later start.   We packed up on Friday afternoon and made the 25 minute trek to the campground.  Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Nick, Aunt Jeannette, Jake, Austin and Annika were all there too.  We were set for a great time until... the temperatures dropped and the the rain poured... and I mean poured for more than 12 hours.  Tony and Nick had to work on Saturday, so they were able to return with winter coats (I had hats just in case).  We debated about coming home, but figured we were set up already and the weather Sunday was supposed to be better.  On Saturday Grandma, Jeannette and I took the 5 kids to a local children's museum.  They had a blast!  Ryan also loved that the train tracks were across the street and he saw no fewer than 10 trains during our visit!  This certainly helped to pass the time on a miserable day. 

The boys did a great job sleeping in the same room, on bunk beds!  Actually, I think Ryan preferred to sleep with big bro Sean there.   Bedtimes still came late and they played hard, so as  I write at 6:30 pm, they are in bed asleep!!  yeah me!  It was worthwhile staying as this morning was chilly, but became beautiful closer to lunch and Sean reached a milestone... see the next post!!

Ryan lost the bottom of his ice cream cone, but manage to enjoy it.  No way he was giving that thing up!

On Saturday night, Grandma brought the picnic into the motor home, so the kids could eat together... out of the cold.
